Ride Of The Week 02/20/2023: Jason Keltz's 2021 Chevy Malibu

LATE MODEL LOVE

It’s been my experience that late model cars don’t get the same amount of car show love as the classics that are on display. I’m the first to say that the Car Show Life is for everyone, so when someone has passion for their ride, I like to acknowledge it. Jason Keltz is one of those folks who bought a car and absolutely loves it, and it shows.

I met Jason at the Steel City Nationals in Pittsburgh back in September of 2022 and his 2021 Malibu immediately caught my eye. In fact, I had assumed that it was a late model Impala in Cherry Red Tintcoat. When I got closer, I noticed the classic period Malibu script badges he installed in place of the block-letter factory “chicklets”. I’d never seen a newer Malibu honor the classic Chevelle-bodied cars of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Combine the badging with the five-spoke Vision wheels and Jason’s car makes for an interesting blend of old and new.
