“Corvette’s Greatest Hits!”
Same as my custom show board winner a few weeks back, Dale Merrill and his ’72 Ventura II Sprint, this week’s Ride of the week eluded me for at least three shows this year. I finally caught up to Jason Keeler of Jersey Shore, PA at the October 4th cruise-in hosted by Central PA Street Machines in Mill Hall, PA to ask him about his 1965 Corvette.
This car first caught my eye back in July at Iconic Rod & Custom’s event. This car has all the Corvette’s Customization greatest hits: triple taillights, side-dump exhaust, C2 big block hood and a custom fiberglass front fascia with fixed headlights. A lot of these custom touches adorned were done to C2 & C3 Vettes back in the day.
Jason told me that the car is his third Vette. He’s had a C3 and a C4 but never a mid-year. He bought it back in January of 2020 and had it painted. It’s powered by a small block from a ’74 Vette and backed by a 4-speed manual and rides on American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels for a nice period look!
